For carers who feel their loved one may be at risk in sheltered housing, in a care home, nursing home or hospital
If you answer 'yes' to any of the following questions we may be able to help you:

No-one is taking any notice of me
'Impressions of Caring' reproduced by kind permission of Irene Wackett (80+ years)
- Are you your loved one's sole advocate?
- Do you have a problem with your loved one's care?
- Would you like to talk to someone else who has been a carer?
- Do you think there are shortfalls in the support services your loved one receives?
- Has an unwelcome decision been made regarding your loved one's care?
- Do you think your loved one should be receiving free care?
- Are you worried about your loved one's assets?
- Are you reluctant to speak up about your loved one's care for fear of backlash?
- Would you like help in getting your voice heard?
- Would recording day-to-day events regarding your loved one's care be useful?
- Would you like help in making representations to the appropriate authorities?
As we are an independent organisation you can feel reassured in the confidence that you can speak openly to us. We have worked in association with legal experts and always do our utmost to protect your interests and those of your loved-one.
Advocare can sometimes open channels of communication within the health and social care arena and remove some of the barriers you may be experiencing. If necessary we can make representations on your behalf to the appropriate authorities regarding your loved-ones' welfare.
We endeavour to find common-sense solutions to carer's problems
