Calling all carers!

As well as the annual celebration of the work unpaid carers do, Britain's National Carers Week aims to raise the profile on the demands of the caregiving role. Advocare is pleased that so many high calibre charities work together for this significant annual event.

Although we aren't involved any special activities for Carers Week we do value the work of carers every day of the year and work hard to improve their 'lot'!

Advocare member 'Sue' has helped with some media work for Carers Week. Sue cares for her mother and asked us why, with all the effort that is being put in on behalf of carers, things seem to be getting no better for them? Other carers ask us why so many surveys and reviews are needed to tell everyone what they know already?

We can't answer these questions. Can you?
