To become a member of Advocare

If you are over eighteen and you are or have been looking after someone who is frail, sick or disabled you can become a member of Advocare.

Advocare - Caring for Carers is a small charity based in Poole, Dorset, dedicated to supporting unpaid carers and former carers and enabling them to speak openly about their needs and concerns with a free voice.

Our Caring for Carers service offers help and information, support and advocacy to help carers deal with some of the demands of their caregiving role and obstructive bureaucracy.

We provide individual and group support. Using our own unique insights and collective caring experience we have developed the Assert programme which reduces stress and help carers to live their lives more effectively.

If you would like to use your wisdom and caregiving experiences to benefit other carers you can join our Advocarers group. Advocarers are members of Advocare who meet regularly to discuss matters of special concern to carers and air burning issues. They also organise social gatherings and arrange fundraising events.
