Our vision is for Advocare to reach carers before they reach crisis point. The first stage is to head off crisis. We are formulating a 'rapid response' strategy, Advocare's Charter for Carers, that will bring early resolution of problems, particularly those relating to sub-standard care of vulnerable people. Advocare's Charter for Carers

In order to resolve swiftly any serious or urgent issues with regard to the care of vulnerable people we are formulating Advocare's Charter for Carers. Underpinned by a legal framework, our Charter will enhance the status of carers and enable them to obtain a satisfactory outcome without going through unreasonably long and involved complaints processes.

Advocare's Charter for Carers is also aimed at preventing carers experiencing a crisis. Based on evidence from published research and Advocare's own casework, the Charter will enable carers to obtain a speedy resolution to problems relating to sub-standard institutionalised care. It will be particularly helpful where a vulnerable person is suffering and their carer does not have the energy, expertise or confidence to deal with it.

Advocare's Charter for Carers will enhance the status of carers, especially those who are sole advocates for their loved ones, raise the profile on carers' concerns and help them to find common-sense solutions to their problems.
