Join our Advocarers Forum!
Members of our Advocarers group who seek to use their collective wisdom and experience to help fellow-carers created the Advocarers Forum. This Forum meets in Poole to discuss matters of special concern to carers and do something about them. The Advocarers Forum is:
- Pressing for a safe, reliable and affordable door-to-door transport service for older people with mobility problems.
- Working to ease the stress of hospital parking. The Advocarers Forum has produced a special parking disc for carers on out-patient 'escort duty'. Displaying this disc in the windscreen alerts the hospital 'parking patrol' to the fact that the escorted person's hospital appointment may have overrun. This helps to prevent stress for the carer and stops them from being penalised.
- Looking at ways in which they can help to bring about a sea-change for carers to enhance their status and enable them to deal swiftly with some of the problems of their caregiving role.
If you would like a carer escort-driver parking disc, or would like to add your voice to ours on a burning issue, please call Cathey on (01202) 737592 for details on how to join the Advocarers Forum.
